In a recent survey conducted by Kaleido, it was revealed that security is a significant concern for enterprises when it comes to connectivity. The survey did not provide information about the geographical locations, industries, or sizes of the enterprises that were polled, but it did indicate that security holds a high regard in the business world.

The survey results suggest that enterprises are concerned about ongoing threats and probing for vulnerabilities across networks, software, and hardware. A staggering 48% of respondents reported that cybersecurity threats represent a major issue for their organisation.

End-to-end security was identified as the number one connectivity concern for enterprises, with 51% of survey respondents ranking it within their top five concerns. This finding underscores the importance of robust security measures in the modern business landscape.

The eSIM technology, initially marketed as a niche technology for wearables, has shown potential as a game changer on the security front. First introduced by Samsung and Apple in 2016, eSIM has progressively become a mobile communication standard. Major events contributing to its marketing included product launches by these companies, while more recent events include Apple's preparation for an eSIM deployment in Europe with iPhone 17 training for authorized dealers in 2024.

The survey did not mention any specific cybersecurity threats that were of particular concern to the enterprises, nor did it provide information about the methods or solutions proposed by enterprises to address their security concerns. However, 49% of eSIM users ranked its ability to be used as a security root of trust as a factor in choosing the technology.

To help enterprises secure themselves without overly complex management, a webinar is being presented alongside Kigen. This event aims to provide guidance on how businesses can protect their networks, software, and hardware from cyber threats.

It is clear that enterprises are taking the threat of cybersecurity seriously, and the survey results reflect this. With the increasing reliance on digital communication and the constant evolving nature of cyber threats, it is crucial for businesses to prioritise security in their connectivity strategies.
