Nordhorn, a charming city in the Grafschaft Bentheim region, is gearing up for an exciting 21-day cycling event from September 5th to 25th, 2025. Known as the "Stadtradeln" climate protection action, this event promises a diverse range of tours for everyone, in partnership with various local organisations.

The action-packed event begins on Friday, September 5th, with two tours for you to choose from. The morning kick-off tour takes you to the community centre in Bookholt, where a small breakfast awaits. In the evening, the evening kick-off tour meets at the "Malle Mill" in Lage, featuring a shared snack.

Throughout the three weeks, there will be 17 more tour offers. On Tuesday, September 16th, embark on the Tour for Mental Health, starting from Denekamper Str. 43 in the Quarter. This 25-km tour offers opportunities for exchange over a snack, focusing on mental health initiatives in Nordhorn.

On the same day, at 5 p.m., the Nature Tour commences from the Library Square. This 20-km guided tour through the countryside to Bimolten is led by the BUND Kreisgruppe, who will explain the special features and beauties of the landscape.

On Monday, September 22nd, the Cycling Concept Tour, also starting from the Library Square, focuses on updating the cycling concept for Nordhorn, with a length of 15 km.

Wednesday, September 24th, sees the Urban Planning Tour, starting from the Northhorn Town Hall. This 20-km tour showcases and explains current city development projects.

For those interested in art, the Kunstwegen-Tour, starting from the Municipal Gallery, offers a 20-km journey showcasing various artworks of the open-air museum "kunstwegen" on Thursday, September 11th, at 5 p.m.

Safety awareness is the focus of the tour starting from the Nordhorn Police Station on Wednesday, September 17th, at 2 p.m. This 15-km tour emphasises traffic safety, current traffic rules, and protection against criminal offenses.

For those passionate about fair trade and sustainable living, the Fair Bike Tour on Friday, September 12th, at 4 p.m., starting from FABI, Steinmaate, showcases examples of fair trade and sustainable living in Nordhorn.

The city council tour to Nordhorn-Range, starting from the Nordhorn Town Hall on Monday, September 15th, at 5 p.m., is a 15-km guided tour of the air-to-ground shooting range.

For those who cannot or do not wish to record their kilometres online or via app, "Fietsenprotocols" for manual entries are available at the town hall.

Registration for the 2025 City Cycling event is now open online. On Saturday, September 6th, 2025, the VVV Stadt- und Citymarketing Nordhorn e.V. offers a guided day cycling tour starting at 9:30 a.m. at the VVV Tower in Nordhorn, leading through varied landscapes to De Lutte (Netherlands) and the Singraven Estate, including breaks for meals and refreshments, as part of supporting participants in the Stadtradeln campaign.

The event concludes on Thursday, September 25th, with the Closing Tour with Grilling, starting from the Northhorn Town Hall. This 10-km tour ends at the South Watch of the Volunteer Fire Department Northhorn, where you can view the building and vehicles while enjoying grilled sausage and drinks.
