In the vibrant city of Düsseldorf, Oliver Wilmering, a well-known figure, is set to receive a prestigious honour – the Karl Klinzing Plaque. This recognition comes as a testament to Wilmering's dedication and hard work towards the city's showmen and various community projects.

The official presentation of the Karl Klinzing Plaque will take place on November 3, 2023, at the Theater an der Kö. The Mostertpöttches, a local organisation, will bestow this notable honour upon Wilmering, acknowledging him as Düsseldorf's young talent.

Wilmering's passion for his work is evident in his endeavours at Fortuna and beyond. His actions played a significant role in preventing the cancellation of the Kö-parade on Carnival Sunday 2024, demonstrating his commitment to preserving the heart of Düsseldorf's carnival.

As association chairman, Wilmering maintains enthusiastic and dedicated contacts with the city's large and small clubs, with a particular focus on promoting children and youth sports. His efforts extend to the logistical management of the Kö-parade, now operated by the showmen's association under the motto: "The popular Carnival Sunday on the Kö must not die."

In his professional life, Wilmering constantly reinvents himself, as Hildegard Dahmen, Baas of the Mostertpöttches, comments. Alongside his partner Yvonne Winter, Wilmering sets new accents with 'Zum Olli', a unique combination of champagne bar and currywurst. His stall at the Kö-Bogen is an indispensable part of the city's Christmas market.

The Karl Klinzing Plaque is named after a prominent figure in Düsseldorf's history, Karl Klinzing. This annual award is given to recognise local talent, and Wilmering's accomplishments, specifically his work in Düsseldorf, have earned him this prestigious recognition.

The Kö-parade, the heart of the carnival, is a special day where everyone can participate without being organised in clubs. Wilmering's partnering in the sponsorship area at Fortuna, offering skewered bread rolls, hot dogs, and crêpes, adds to the festive atmosphere.

As Wilmering prepares to receive the Karl Klinzing Plaque, his dedication to Düsseldorf and its community continues to shine brightly, making him a deserving recipient of this significant award.
