A judge witnesses a stabbing in a nearby apartment
In an unexpected turn of events, a violent altercation took place at a residential facility on Cuxhavener Straße, involving two men, aged 58 and 61, who were reportedly intoxicated at the time.
The incident unfolded on Saturday evening, when the 58-year-old man, who was housing his friend of the same age at the facility, found himself in a heated argument with the 61-year-old. The cause of the disagreement remains unknown.
During the argument, the 61-year-old allegedly produced a pair of scissors, while the 58-year-old, in a violent turn, is said to have grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his opponent.
The 61-year-old was severely injured in the abdomen, and the 58-year-old, after inflicting the wound, called the emergency services. The 61-year-old was taken to hospital for immediate treatment, while the 58-year-old was taken to Harburg Hospital and underwent surgery. Fortunately, the life of the 58-year-old is not in danger.
Investigations are currently underway against the 61-year-old for dangerous bodily harm. The man is already known to the police and has been brought before the examining magistrate. However, the name of the investigating judge has not been disclosed at this time.
The residential facility in question is designed to provide shelter for individuals from the drug scene and ex-prisoners. The incident has raised concerns about safety within such facilities and has sparked discussions about the need for increased security measures.
