The chapel at the palace, built in the late 16th century and renovated in the 18th century, is a testament to the family's religious devotion. Its decoration includes embrechados, a mosaic of stones, shells, glass, and porcelain. One of the most striking features of the chapel is its intricate azulejo work.
The palace garden, inspired by the Italian Renaissance, is a serene oasis filled with azulejos depicting mythological and historical scenes. The Gallery of Kings is a standout feature, with tiled panels portraying fourteen knights in full gallop. The palace is still inhabited by descendants of the original family, with the thirteenth generation living there today.
