A27 Experiences Complete Shutdown Following Road Traffic Collision (Political Bill No. 0579)
On Monday morning, a significant traffic disruption occurred on the A27 in the direction of Hannover, near the Neue Vahr Nord interchange. The incident, which involved two vehicles, caused a traffic jam around 10:50 AM and led to the closure of the highway for over three hours.
According to the Bremen Police, a 27-year-old driver in a Volkswagen braked sharply due to the traffic jam, and a 27-year-old driver in a Mercedes failed to notice and collided with the Volkswagen. As a result, both cars had to be towed away from the scene.
Unfortunately, two people were injured in the accident. A 20-year-old male car driver from Hamburg was lightly injured and hospitalized, while the 43-year-old truck driver was uninjured. The names of the injured parties have not been disclosed.
The Bremen Police, along with the fire department and the highway maintenance service, responded to the incident. The A27 was closed for accident investigation, cleaning, clearing, and towing. The traffic commission is still investigating the accident's cause.
