Abbey Road Studios Collaborates with corto.alto: "Experience of Polestar is Indeed Cool"
In a unique collaboration, Liam Shortall, a Mercury Prize nominee and winner at the recent Jazz FM Awards, took his music to the Polestar 3 for an immersive listening experience co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins. This new in-car listening experience, known as Abbey Road Studios Mode, transforms the Polestar 3's cabin into a mobile sound studio.
During the session in Studio Two, a room with a rich history of iconic recordings, Liam reworked two of his hit songs using Abbey Road Studios Mode presets. The first song, "Energised", was matched with the "Slope" preset due to its uptempo, festival-ready nature. The second song, "Latency", a slower, more introspective piece, was matched with the "Open" preset to allow for space and melody.
Liam found the Bowers & Wilkins speakers in the Polestar 3 to be inspiring and "cool" during his time in the vehicle. The system uses 25 strategically placed Bowers & Wilkins speakers to place listeners at the heart of the mix.
For Liam, the car test is a crucial time for his music, as it's where he often makes decisions about the final product. The goal of Abbey Road Studios Mode is to reimagine how music is experienced, not just heard. It aims to transport listeners into the heart of the mix, immersing them in the music in a way that traditional listening can't match.
This collaboration adds a new chapter to Abbey Road Studios' story, which has seen Bowers & Wilkins loudspeakers supporting the recording process for the past 45 years. With Abbey Road Studios Mode, the Polestar 3 offers a unique listening experience that combines the best of both worlds - the cutting-edge technology of the electric vehicle and the rich history and acoustic properties of Abbey Road Studios.
