The city of Solingen is set to host a memorial ceremony on Sunday, 1st September, at the Theater and Concert Hall on Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. This sombre event is in remembrance of a tragic terror attack that occurred in the past.
If you're a resident of Solingen, you're invited to attend this memorial ceremony. To participate, it's essential to register with your name, address, and date of birth for identity verification purposes. Please note that only one personalized ticket can be purchased per individual.
The registration process is straightforward. After submitting your details, your ticket request will be checked by the employees of the city of Solingen. Once approved, you will receive an order confirmation by email. However, this is not yet your ticket.
To obtain your ticket, you must present your ID card and the order confirmation at the theater and concert box office. Tickets can be picked up on Saturday, 31st August, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The memorial ceremony will not include a speech by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). However, he will participate in the event in a "silent participation" capacity. Besides the Federal President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier (SPD), and NRW Minister President Hendrik Wüst (CDU), numerous representatives from state and federal politics will attend the memorial service in Solingen. These include Deputy Minister-President Mona Neubaur, Interior Minister Herbert Reul, Family Minister Josefine Paul, Minister for Federal and European Affairs Nathanael Liminski, Federal Victims' Commissioner Roland Weber, and North Rhine-Westphalian Victim Protection Commissioner Dr. Barbara Haliza.
It's important to note that tickets for this event are free. The memorial ceremony will take place at the Solingen Theater and Concert Hall, and a total of 250 tickets are available for the Solingen population to attend.
We encourage all residents of Solingen to attend this memorial ceremony as a show of unity and remembrance. Let us come together to honour those who were affected by this terrible event.
