Accident-related flight pursued by Polish authorities
On March 19th, around 6:00 PM, a traffic accident occurred on Westfalenstraße in Troisdorf. The incident involved a 60-year-old resident of the town, who was suspected of being intoxicated at the time.
According to the Circles Police Authority Rhein-Sieg District, the accident damaged three vehicles, with the total damage estimated at over 12,000 euros. The 60-year-old attempted to flee the scene but could only make it to Pfälzer Weg due to the damage to his vehicle.
Witnesses followed the fleeing vehicle and alerted the police, who then apprehended the 60-year-old at the scene. The driver was taken to Troisdorf Police Station, where blood samples were taken for further investigation.
The police's suspicions were confirmed when an alcohol test was conducted at the station. As a result, the 60-year-old's driver's license was confiscated, and he was prohibited from driving motor vehicles.
The 60-year-old now faces a criminal charge for endangering traffic due to alcohol consumption. The charge (PvG) was issued by the Troisdorfer authorities.
