Accidents and injuries on roads in Neckar-Odenwald county, Germany

In a series of disturbing incidents on Tuesday, the Mosbach police have taken over investigations into several dangerous driving situations that occurred on various roads in the area.

The first incident took place on Odenwaldstraße in Mosbach at around 4:35 PM, where a rear-end collision occurred involving three vehicles: a Seat Leon, a VW Polo, and an Opel Corsa. The driver of the Seat Leon, a 34-year-old, is suspected of failing to notice the stopped VW Polo driven by a 70-year-old, causing the collision. The driver of the Golf, who is yet to be identified, is reported to have blocked the progress of the two vehicles in the roundabout in Unterschefflenz after the incident.

Witnesses, particularly the driver of a white Sprinter, are urged to contact the police station at 06261 8090. The Seat had to be towed away, while the Opel Corsa and VW Polo remained roadworthy. Two individuals, the driver of the Seat and the woman in the Polo, were slightly injured and taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Prior to this incident, around 2 PM, a truck on federal road 292 between Elztal-Auerbach and Mosbach was reported to be driving in a zigzag manner and crossing onto the opposite lane. The truck, a Mercedes-Benz Atego, allegedly endangered other traffic participants, including a white Mercedes Sprinter and a red small car. The truck and its 60-year-old driver were stopped and checked by the police in Mosbach, but no alcohol was found.

The Mosbach police are asking traffic participants who were endangered by the truck, especially the drivers of the white Sprinter and the red small car, to call 06261 8090. The driver of the white Sprinter had to perform an emergency brake to avoid a collision.

In a separate incident, a black VW Golf overtook a VW vehicle driven by a 47-year-old and a 70-year-old, causing another vehicle, a white Sprinter, to brake sharply. The Mosbach police are now charging the presumed driver of the Golf with endangering traffic.

A dangerous traffic situation occurred on state road 526 between Mittelschefflenz and Unterschefflenz at around 10:45 AM on Tuesday. However, this incident does not appear to be directly related to the incidents on Odenwaldstraße and federal road 292.

The Mosbach police are reminding drivers to be responsible and cautious on the roads to ensure the safety of all road users. They urge anyone with information about these incidents or who may have witnessed any of the dangerous driving behaviours to contact the police station.
