Accolades for Delling in Court - "Always Innocent in His Actions"
Gerhard Delling Stands Trial for Alleged Role in Abduction of Block Children
In a shocking turn of events, Gerhard Delling, a well-known sports commentator, is standing trial for his role in the abduction of the Block children in Hamburg. The incident, which took place in January 2024, has sent ripples through the community and beyond.
The story began on New Year's Eve when Christina Block, the children's mother, called a relative and said that her children had been taken from Denmark, and she didn't know who was behind it. The relative, who had known the children since birth and always had contact with Christina Block's family, was later charged with complicity in the case.
On the same day, Gerhard Delling called the same relative and asked if she could pick up the children from a meeting point near Hamburg. The relative, however, found the directions confusing and her husband explained the way to her via WhatsApp.
Gerhard Delling had met Christina Block during the COVID-19 pandemic and got along well with her four children. In fact, one of Christina's daughters called Gerhard "Gernhard" because she liked him so much. Gerhard even organized a meeting between Christina and her two children in Baden-Württemberg on January 1, 2024, and coordinated their return to Hamburg.
Christina Block, Gerhard Delling's partner, is also involved in the trial and is accused of ordering the abduction. Stephan Hensel, ex-husband of Christina Block, is a co-plaintiff in the trial.
Interestingly, the German security company founder was connected to the case through her Israeli security firm, which informed Christina Block in autumn 2023 about false pedophilia accusations against her ex-husband. This led Block, on her lawyer's advice, to request a police investigation of the allegations.
The security company owner received an order from Eugen Block at the beginning of January to protect Block's house and his daughter's from journalists and unauthorized persons. The owner secured the windows at Christina Block's house before the children arrived, not to lock them in but to protect them from the press and unauthorized persons.
Gerhard Delling, during the trial, emphasized that he never intended to do anything wrong or use violence. His defense lawyer read out a statement from a co-defendant security company owner who had no indication of commission to retrieve the children from Denmark.
The relative, who is also a defendant, stated that she was willing to drive the children the last short distance home because she knew that the mother had custody. Gerhard Delling believes that children need both father and mother, a belief that may have played a role in the alleged abduction.
The trial continues, with the public eagerly following the developments in this intriguing case.
