Trigema Embraces Sustainability with New "Change" Product Line

In a significant move towards promoting sustainable resource use and reducing textile waste, Swabian textile company Trigema has launched a new product line called "Trigema Change". This innovative range consists of compostable clothing, setting new standards in the fashion industry and meeting the growing expectations of consumers who value responsible consumption.

Wolfgang Grupp Junior, the new CEO of Trigema, took over the helm along with his sister Bonita Grupp, as Wolfgang Grupp Senior stepped down as CEO in early 2024. Trigema, a company rooted in tradition, has been shifting towards sustainability in the textile industry since the 2000s.

The "Trigema Change" product line is designed to be environmentally friendly, as it can be fully biodegraded at the end of its lifespan. This approach goes beyond traditional practices in the textile industry, demonstrating that traditional companies can play a leading role in transitioning to a more sustainable economy and textile production.

Trigema's developments are in line with the "Cradle to Cradle" principle, which aims to replace the linear consumption model with a sustainable and environmentally friendly model. The company's circular products are designed to be returned to either biological or technical cycles after use, reducing waste and promoting a closed-loop system.

Trigema's commitment to sustainability is further underscored by its use of GOTS-certified organic cotton, which is produced without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or genetic modifications. This ensures that Trigema's production process considers both ecological and social criteria, aligning with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

By launching the "Trigema Change" product line, the company is not only addressing the issue of textile waste but also serving as an example of how companies are contributing to the development of a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. Trigema aims to combine innovation and tradition to show that high-quality textiles and environmental awareness can go hand in hand.

In 2010, Trigema introduced circular products designed according to the "Cradle to Cradle" principle, marking an early step in their journey towards sustainability.
