In the heart of Indiana, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse was transformed into a stunning spectacle during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend. Dodd Technologies, the production partner for the event, played a pivotal role in this transformation.

The halftime stage, designed by Dodd Technologies, was an impressive all-LED stage, boasting an upstage wall, side walls, and a large LED floor. The lighting control for the show was a complex setup, with two XL processors, four 8-port nodes, and a replay unit provided for the occasion. A backup grandMA3 unit was also on hand to ensure a smooth performance.

The MDG ATMe haze generators, known for their ability to provide a very even haze without revealing the source, were a key element in the setup. One generator with fan was placed in each of the four corners of the catwalk, contributing to the event's TV-friendly atmosphere.

ACT Entertainment and MA Lighting's support was a significant factor in Dodd Technologies' decision to use their equipment. As the exclusive distributor of the Ayrton, MA Lighting, and MDG brands in North America, ACT Entertainment provided the necessary resources for a successful event. Dodd Technologies' representatives from ACT Entertainment were available for questions at all times of day during the planning and execution of the event.

Seventy-four laser-source Cobra2s were deployed for the halftime show and other performances during the All-Star Weekend. These versatile lights were used for beam effects outlining the court, scanning effects, and unique projections on the court. Fifty Ayrton Khamsins were used for key lighting and effects, while 16 Zonda 9 FX provided backlight for the main stage. Four more Zonda 9 FX were used to highlight players' exits from the tunnels.

Two full-size grandMA3 consoles were used for focus at the ground and at FOH, with both eventually moving to the FOH position. The grandMA platform, which Dodd Technologies has been using for about 15 years, was used for programming the halftime show and providing lighting control gear.

The WNBA Skills Challenge, held on Friday, July 18, was broadcast on ESPN. The main event, the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game, was played on Saturday and aired live on ABC, Disney+, and ESPN+. Despite there being no available information about the lighting exposure and control at the game, it's clear that Dodd Technologies' work played a crucial role in making the event a visual success.
