Actor Paul Mescal reminisces about his extraordinary encounter with music legend Paul McCartney
In an exciting turn of events, Irish actor Paul Mescal has been cast to play the iconic role of Paul McCartney in an upcoming four-part Beatles biopic. The project, titled The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event, is set to be the first bingeable theatrical experience.
Mescal, who is currently gaining critical acclaim for his role in the film Hamnet, scheduled for release on November 27, expressed surprise and delight at the prospect of portraying McCartney. He described the opportunity as "a crazy sentence to say that I've spent time with that man, let alone play him."
The biopic will also feature Gracie Abrams's boyfriend, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. Mescal recently had an encounter with McCartney, and he referred to the legendary musician as an "extraordinary man."
The upcoming Beatles biopic is not the only project Mescal is involved in. He also discussed his other film, The History of Sound, scheduled for release on September 12, during an interview with IndieWire.
In the interview, Mescal revealed his intention to do his own singing as Paul McCartney in the biopic. The Beatles films are currently slated for release in April 2028. Fans of the Fab Four and Mescal are eagerly awaiting more details about this highly anticipated project.
