Adolescent (17 years old) acting as a pimp: Facilitating sexual encounters for his underage girlfriend (13 years old)
In a shocking case that was heard at the Vienna Regional Court on Thursday, a 17-year-old was convicted for pimping and procuring minors for prostitution. The defendant, a native Czech with a previous conviction for robbery, was sentenced to one year in prison, with four months to be served.
The victim in this case was a 13-year-old girl whom the defendant had met a week prior at Meidling station. The defendant and the victim had entered into a relationship, which the defendant partially admitted to, despite the fact that the sexual act is generally punishable due to the victim's age (13) and the age difference with the defendant (more than three years).
The defendant had consensual sex with the 13-year-old victim before offering her to other men. He arranged a meeting with a client and received payment for offering the girl for paid sex. The defendant kept 100 euros out of the 150 euros he received from the client, citing insufficient change.
The victim, who was previously involved in prostitution, had written to the defendant that she was offered money for sex. The defendant, feeling compelled to join in, began promoting the victim on Snapchat, posting stories featuring the 13-year-old and even creating price lists.
The defendant also attempted to find a client for his 14-year-old friend, posting photos of her on Snapchat and promoting her accordingly. Photos of the 13-year-old victim were also posted on Snapchat, although the context in which this occurred was not specified in the case.
The defendant claimed he went along with the client to keep an eye on things during the arranged meeting. However, the prosecution accused him of pimping, promoting prostitution, and severe sexual abuse of minors.
The search results do not provide the name of the defendant who stood trial in Vienna for offering his 13-year-old girlfriend for money in advertisements in November last year. The defendant had a suspended eight-month prison sentence for a previous conviction.
The defendant's conviction serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of exploiting minors for prostitution and the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals from such crimes.
