Agreement Signed Between Neogreen Hydrogen Corporation (based in Ande, Paraguay and Canada) for a 75 MW Service Provisions Contract
In the bustling city of Pilar, Paraguay, construction is underway for a groundbreaking industrial plant by NEOGREEN Hydrogen Corporation. This plant, set to revolutionise the energy and agricultural sectors, is poised to bring significant economic benefits and environmental advantages to the nation.
The project, divided into two phases with a total requirement of 300 MW, will create a vast array of job opportunities. Approximately 7,500 indirect jobs will be generated, encompassing various sectors such as transportation, food, manufacturing, civil construction, logistics, and more. Additionally, the construction phase itself is expected to generate between 2,500 and 3,000 jobs, including specialized positions.
Once operational, the plant will require approximately 250 permanent operating and administrative personnel, all of whom are highly qualified and trained. The plant's production will also create opportunities for specialized maintenance, providing employment for around 1,000 people every 18 months.
The contract signed on January 31, 2023, between ANDE and NEOGREEN Hydrogen Corporation, secures a 75 MW supply of electricity for the plant. The supply tariff corresponds to Category 620 Very High Voltage of the current Tariff Sheet No. 21. The contract also establishes the rights and obligations regarding the provision of the connection service and electric power supply to NEOGREEN Hydrogen Corporation in Very High Voltage (220,000 volts).
One of the key benefits of this plant is its ability to supply around 30% of the nitrogen requirements of the Paraguayan agricultural sector. This contribution to Paraguayan agricultural security and productive sovereignty is a significant step towards ensuring the nation's food security.
Moreover, the plant will produce green fertilizer and hydrogen from renewable electricity. This production of hydrogen of this magnitude will place Paraguay at the forefront of energy transformation, utilising state-of-the-art technology in the production of hydrogen and turning it into fertilizer.
The plant's operation will also contribute to Paraguay's inclusion within the circular economy criteria, attracting other business opportunities and possible development of the downstream chain. This shift towards a more sustainable and circular economy is a promising step towards a greener and more prosperous future for Paraguay.
On December 12, 2022, ANDE and NEOGREEN Hydrogen Corporation signed a service provision contract for an industrial plant in Ciudad Presidente Dr. Manuel Franco, Alto Paraná Department. This plant, along with the one in Pilar, underscores NEOGREEN Hydrogen Corporation's commitment to Paraguay and its vision for a sustainable, prosperous future.
