Agricultural engineering firm delves into the field of seed drill reconstruction
Rabe Agrartechnik Re-enters Seeding Technology with Ventus Seeder
Rabe Agrartechnik, a traditional German farm machinery brand based in Bad Essen, is making a comeback in the seeding technology sector after a hiatus. The company is launching a product offensive ahead of Agritechnica 2025, focusing on two projects: Pandion and Ventus.
The Ventus seeder, the first of a new product range being developed by Rabe Agrartechnik, is set to make waves in the industry. It boasts a 2,000-liter tank, the largest in its class, and can be operated via ISOBUS terminals. The tank is divisible for different seed or simultaneous seed and fertilizer application.
The seeder, which is said to be "ISOBUS-ready" by Rabe, is based on Sola's seeding technology and has been modified in terms of tank, distribution technology, and operation. Rabe collaborated with Spanish seeder manufacturer Sola in the development of the Ventus seeder. The company that also collaborated with Rabe in this project is Vogel & Noot.
Row spacings of 12.5 or 15 cm are possible with the Ventus, which uses two distributor heads for a 3-meter working width. The seeder can be operated via ISOBUS terminals, but Rabe did not provide information on which ISOBUS functions are possible with the Ventus seeder.
In 2020, Rabe Agrartechnik was acquired by the Chinese conglomerate Zoomlion. The seeder is owned by this company, which was founded in 1992 and is now one of the world's largest construction machinery manufacturers.
Rabe Agrartechnik's re-entry into seeding technology is part of its plan to become a "full-liner" in soil preparation and seeding technology. The company also announced a significant increase in order intake in several product areas compared to the previous year in 2025.
The Pandion project aims to expand Rabe's offering in flat and fast soil preparation. The newsletter subscription is available on the website, which includes a privacy policy notice.
