AI-powered company PyxiScience secures €2 million to revolutionize mathematics education by incorporating artificial intelligence.
French startup PyxiScience, specializing in adaptive mathematics learning for high school and university students and teachers, is rapidly expanding its presence in the global higher education market. Founded in July 2023 by Joachim Lebovits and Jacques Lévy Véhel, the platform has already gained a significant foothold at prestigious institutions such as Sorbonne Paris North University and NYU Paris.
The company's growth is supported by a €2-million funding round, with investments from various sources, including early-stage venture capital fund Newfund, Invess Ile-de-France Amorcèage, and INCO Ventures, which manages over €130 million in assets and boasts a portfolio of over 100 organizations.
Timothée Metz, Investment Director at INCO Ventures, expressed his belief in PyxiScience's vision to build AI tools that promote educational equity. Marjolaine Catil, Investment Director at Newfund, supports PyxiScience's go-to-market strategy, particularly focusing on North American universities.
The platform offers an unlimited number of automatically generated exercises that continuously adapt to each student's level. For educators, it provides high-quality scientific content and enables them to create and assign homework in just a few clicks. Moreover, PyxiScience's AI assists with grading, reducing the time spent on this task tenfold.
PyxiScience aims to target the €10+ billion global higher education market and expand into all STEM fields and markets in China and India. The founders, Joachim Lebovits, a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Professor at Sorbonne Paris North University, and Jacques Lévy Véhel, a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Ph.D. in Mathematics, aim to use the funding to promote the international expansion of the platform.
The company's success has already attracted over 10,000 users, and it plans to deploy in regional high schools by the 2025 school year and launch in North America starting January 2026. With its focus on educational equity and innovative AI tools, PyxiScience is poised to make a significant impact in the global STEM education landscape.
