In a series of unfortunate events, four cars were broken into and property stolen from parked vehicles in different municipalities of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis on Monday, 3rd September.
The incidents began early in the morning, with a white VW ID.BUZZ having its right front side window smashed in Odenthal. A handbag was stolen from the vehicle, which was parked there around 08:15 AM.
Later in the day, at Kürten-Hutsherweg, a grey Opel Astra had its side window on the passenger side smashed. A backpack containing the owner's wallet and laptop was stolen. The woman noticed a dark car with two men wearing caps driving onto the parking lot when she parked. The identities of the two men are currently unknown.
In Bergisch Gladbach, a car was broken into on Romaneyer Straße. The driver and his wife went for a short walk around 11:15 AM, and upon their return, they found the rear side window on the driver's side smashed. Initial findings suggest a bag with three books was stolen.
On Straße Dünnhofsweg in Bergisch Gladbach-Gronau, a woman parked her red VW Golf on Tuesday afternoon, 2nd September. She returned to her car the next morning around 11:00 AM and found the driver's side window smashed, but nothing was stolen.
The police are asking for any information about suspicious activities around the four broken into cars. Witnesses are also encouraged to come forward. As a precaution, the police once again advise not to leave valuables in your car. They have filed criminal charges in all four cases related to the car break-ins. The police are currently investigating the incidents and are urging the public to remain vigilant.
