In a series of escalating tensions, the Ramon Airport in southern Israel was struck by a drone from Yemen, according to Israeli military reports. The attack, which occurred a few days ago, resulted in the slight injury of one individual and the closure of the airport's airspace.

The drone attack targeted the arrival hall of the airport, causing disruption to regular operations. The Israeli aviation authority swiftly issued a statement regarding the incident, while the Israeli military has launched an investigation to determine the origin of the drone and any potential further threats.

This is not the first time that the Yemeni Houthi militia has targeted Israel. Since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, the militia has been using rockets and drones in their attacks on Israeli soil. The most recent air strike, conducted earlier this month, claimed the lives of the Prime Minister of the Iran-backed Huthi militia in Yemen, Ahmed al-Rahaui, along with nine of his ministers, two other Houthi representatives, and several other casualties.

The Yemeni Houthi militia's attacks on Israel have been widely reported by various news outlets, including "ynet", which covered the recent drone attack at the Ramon Airport. The militia's solidarity with the Islamic Hamas is believed to be a driving factor behind these attacks.

Interestingly, there was no rocket alert at the Ramon Airport, according to the army. However, the closure of the airport's airspace following the drone attack serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats faced by Israel from the Yemeni Houthi militia.

Previously, three drones fired from Yemen were intercepted by Israeli air defense, demonstrating the country's efforts to protect its citizens and infrastructure. As the investigation into the Ramon Airport incident continues, it remains to be seen how Israel will respond to these persistent attacks from the Yemeni Houthi militia.
