On Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2024, a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle occurred near a gas station on a state road in Edesheim.

According to the Police Directorate responsible for press releases, Landau, the driver involved in the collision hails from the district of DÜW. The driver showed signs of alcohol consumption, with a breath test result of 0.7% BAC. A criminal investigation has been initiated against the driver due to the collision and alcohol-related evidence.
