A 70-year-old driver from Euskirchen was taken into custody on February 1st following a report of unusual driving behavior on the road from Euenheim to Zülpich. According to the Circles Police Department Euskirchen, the man was reported for zigzag movements on this route at approximately 18:50.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers detected a strong smell of alcohol upon opening the car door. A voluntary breath alcohol test showed a result of 2.48 per mille, which exceeds the legal limit in Germany.

Following the test, the driver was taken to the police station where a blood sample was taken. His driving license was confiscated, and he was prohibited from driving vehicles that require a license. The man displayed uncooperative and unrepentant behavior throughout the incident.
