Alleged attack implicates Saeed Ghani's brother in a criminal case report
In a recent development, Saeed Ghani, the brother of Farhan Ghani and Sindh Local Government Minister, has stated that his brother will prove his innocence in court following the registration of a case against him. The case was filed at the Ferozabad police station due to an alleged physical assault on Hafiz Sohail, a government employee.
The incident occurred on August 22 while Hafiz Sohail was supervising fibre cable work on a service road off Shahrah-e-Faisal. According to the FIR, Farhan Ghani, along with Qamar Ahmed, Shakeel, and four other associates, confronted Hafiz Sohail, asking him to stop the work and questioning whether he had permission to dig the road.
Hafiz Sohail claimed that Farhan's men assaulted him and pointed weapons at him with the intention to kill. He further stated that he was tortured at a nearby petrol station office. The charges against Farhan Ghani include attempted murder and terrorism, among other provisions of the law.
In the early hours of Sunday, the LG minister issued a statement confirming that an altercation occurred between Farhan and Sohail the previous day. He added that Farhan and the others involved would present themselves before the authorities and contest the case in court.
True to his words, Farhan Ghani and four of his aides surrendered to the police overnight. A police van arrived at the scene and rescued Hafiz Sohail, taking him to the police station.
