Amazon's artificial intelligence will survey the globe, purchasing items on your behalf through the Amazon app.
Amazon has unveiled a new shopping tool called Lens Live, an extension of Amazon Lens. This innovative feature aims to revolutionise the way users shop on the platform.
To utilise Lens Live, open the Amazon app, tap on the camera icon in the search bar at the top, and launch the camera scanner view. The tool's conversational experience is powered by the in-house Rufus LLM, ensuring a smooth and intuitive user experience.
Lens Live boasts enhanced object recognition capabilities, similar to Apple's Visual Intelligence and Google's Gemini Live with screen sharing. When a user taps on an object, its outline is automatically detected and scanned against Amazon's inventory for accurate matches.
Matches found are displayed in a swipeable card carousel at the bottom of the screen, allowing for quick comparisons. Each product listing card in the carousel features a "+" button for direct addition to the shopping cart, making shopping more convenient than ever.
Amazon will also introduce an iOS app called "Amazon Live View" to allow users to capture items around their environment with the camera and directly track or find them on Amazon. The new tool is being rolled out to millions of users in the US, starting with the iOS app.
In addition, Rufus AI shopping assistant is available for describing product details and clarifying doubts, providing users with all the information they need to make informed purchasing decisions. The expansion of Lens Live's availability is planned for the following months, with expectations of reaching a wider audience soon.
With Lens Live, shopping becomes as simple as pointing and clicking, making the online shopping experience more engaging and efficient.
