In the heart of Wiener Neustadt, art enthusiasts and connoisseurs are eagerly awaiting the upcoming exhibition, "Prachensky. A Painter's Life in Red." This event, dedicated to the avant-garde abstractionist Markus Prachensky, will take place at St. Stephen's Cathedral from February 17th next year.

The exhibition is the second home game for entrepreneur, art patron, and Wiener Neustadt resident Werner Trenker, following Nitsch's color world 2023. Trenker, captivated by Prachensky's works due to the red, the life color, and the rhythm, found the Museum St. Peter an der Sperr with its Gothic church nave fascinating.

Brigitte Prachensky, the late husband's wife, will accompany the exhibition as the final major one she curates. She was already excited about Werner Trenker's initiative as her late husband had exhibited at the Gothic church in Wiener Neustadt in 2005.

Florian Steininger describes Markus Prachensky as the "great abstract expressionist" of local art. The exhibition shows the complete development of Prachensky's work, from the 1950s to the year 2011.

The cross remains a significant theme in the upcoming exhibition. The name of the next artist whose works will be exhibited in February 2024 at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Wiener Neustadt, as announced by Werner Trenker, cannot be found in the provided search results.

The exhibition opening of Prachensky was held on September 25th at Museum St. Peter an der Sperr, and was covered by Patrick Schuster. Schuster, a reporter for Events of the Week, will also be reporting on the upcoming exhibition. Alexander Felten, the photographer for the exhibition opening of Prachensky, is yet to be announced for the next event.

Sonja Zsolnai-Kasztler and Werner Trenker were immediately captivated by Prachensky's works, drawn to the red, the life color, and the rhythm. The exhibition promises to be a vibrant and immersive experience, showcasing the mastery of abstraction and one of the pillars of Austrian art history of the last 80 years.

Stay tuned for more updates on "Prachensky. A Painter's Life in Red" and the next artist to be featured at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Wiener Neustadt.
