An individual from Kauai, aged 37, succumbed to injuries sustained in a one-car accident.
In the early hours of Friday, a tragic single-vehicle crash occurred on Kuhio Highway in front of Kealia Beach. The incident claimed the life of a 37-year-old man named Yannick Doth, a resident of Puhi.
According to the Kauai Police Department, the crash took place around 1:40 a.m. Yannick Doth was driving a 2022 Toyota Highlander when he lost control of the vehicle, crossing the centerline. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a northbound guardrail.
The impact of the crash was severe, with Yannick Doth being thrown against the guardrail. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that speed may have played a role in the crash. The Kauai Police Department is continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Yannick Doth was a well-known member of the Puhi community. In 2022, he unfortunately lost his life in a traffic accident involving a collision with a vehicle. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
