Ancient Rittahe tradition spanning 1250 years accompanied by a novel environmental endeavor along the Eco-pathway
In the heart of North Hesse, the city of Kassel and its district, Großenritte, have some exciting news to share. The Marketing Department's city blog is now your go-to source for local news, district updates, and interesting stories from the region.
One of the most anticipated events is the opening of the Eco-Pfad Großenritte trail, a self-guided walking path that takes you on a journey through the city's rich history, from the Stone Age to the present day. The trail, approximately 5.7 km long, should take around two hours to complete and is set to open on Saturday, 30.08.2025, at 11 am, at Gertrudenstift.
To celebrate the opening of the trail, the SPD Ortsverein Großenritte, chaired by Dagmar Leise and Robert Szeltner, has organised the Eco-Pfad Challenge. This competition invites all interested parties to participate for free. The challenge involves answering two questions at each station with given options. Participants can submit their solutions by 07.09.2025.
The Eco-Pfad Challenge offers prizes worth over 1,500 €. The closing and prize giving ceremony will take place on Saturday, 13.09.2025, at 11 am, also at Gertrudenstift.
Participants are encouraged to submit their solutions via the website, where they will find the detailed terms of participation and data protection information. By participating, individuals agree to these terms.
