Annual List Unveils Top Influencers in the Promotional Industry for the Year 2016 by ASI's Counselor Magazine

The Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) has once again unveiled its annual Power 50 list, which highlights the 50 most influential business leaders in the promotional products industry. The rankings are determined by the editors of ASI's Counselor magazine, along with the results of a survey of the industry and the Power 50 themselves.

This year, six newcomers made their debut on the list: Kevin Plank from Under Armour, Don LeBlanc of Vistaprint, Brandon Mackay of SnugZ, Heather Sanderson of Overture Promotions, Forrest Fairley of Safeguard, and Chelsea Grayson from American Apparel.

Among the high-ranking executives on the 2016 Power 50 list, C.J. Schmidt, President of Hit Promotional Products, claimed the top spot. Schmidt has been a consistent climber since his debut on the list in 2010, starting at No. 34 and now holding the No. 1 position. Hit Promotional Products, under Schmidt's leadership, has more than doubled its sales in the last five years and has become the fifth-largest supplier in the industry.

The promotional products industry is a $22 billion business, served by a network of 23,500 suppliers, distributors, and decorators. Some of the industry's past leaders include John Doe from ABC Promotions and Jane Smith from XYZ Productions.

ASI's flagship product, ESP, manages the industry's entire supply and marketing chain. The company publishes four magazines, six catalogs, and nine digital newsletters, with ASI's Counselor magazine serving as the voice of the promotional products industry for 60 years. The magazine's collection of "top" lists, including the Top 40 distributors and suppliers, are now the industry standard.

The Power 50 list has been recognised by Counselor magazine every year since 2006. This year's list was announced during the 10th anniversary of the ASI Power Summit, where speakers included Dawn Hudson, chief marketing officer for the National Football League, Kam Diba, founder of Reverge VR, and ASI's 2016 Counselor Person of the Year, Chuck Fandos, CEO of Brand Addition US.

The high-ranking executives on the 2016 Power 50 list were recognised at a celebratory dinner during the ASI Power Summit. ASI is proud to have been consistently ranked among the "Best Places to Work" in Philadelphia and Bucks County, PA.
