Anticipated Features and Expected Costs of the Upcoming iPhone 17 Model
Apple has announced a major event scheduled for September 9, 2025, at the Apple Park in Cupertino. The tech giant is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series, a lineup that promises significant advancements in design, technology, and performance.
The iPhone 17 series will consist of four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Air, a new entry in the lineup, is said to replace the "Plus" and boast a strikingly slim design and a larger display.
The iPhone 17 and 17 Air will feature a dual rear camera system, with a 50MP main sensor and a 12MP secondary lens. The iPhone 17 Pro models, on the other hand, will keep their 48MP camera setup but with added telephoto capabilities for sharper zoomed shots. The selfie game is strong with a 24MP TrueDepth front camera on all four models.
Apple is rumoured to focus on advanced cooling and thermal management in the Pro models, making them the most efficient iPhones to date. The company is also expected to deliver larger batteries across the iPhone 17 series, ensuring longer battery life.
The iPhone 17 Air will launch with iOS 26 right out of the box, loaded with AI-powered features. The base iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air will be powered by a slightly less powerful A19 chip and start with 128 GB of storage. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, however, are expected to be powered by Apple's Pro chip and start with 256GB of storage.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to introduce a major observable change in design, with the Pro models featuring a redesigned back with a massive bump for the cameras. The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to have an ultra-thin design, setting it apart from the rest of the lineup.
The event will also focus heavily on iOS 26, watchOS, and macOS, all boasting deeper AI integration. The next-generation AirPods Pro 3 are also set to be unveiled. Apart from the iPhones, Apple is expected to reveal the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3, as well as refreshed iPads fitted with Apple's latest silicon.
