Anticipates Participation from Germany in Four-Day Bike Event, Euregio Fiets-4-daagse
In the heart of Nordhorn, Germany, the Mayor, Thomas Berling, recently hosted a press event at the beautifully restored former customs clearance facility. The occasion was to present the upcoming "Euregio Fiets-4-daagse" (Euregio Bike-4-Days), a four-day bike event with a rich tradition, which is set to take place from August 12 to 15, 2025.
Roy Fox and Ad Kamphuis from the organizing team presented the event details at the meeting, emphasizing the opportunities for closer cooperation between the Euregio Fiets-4-daagse and Stadtradeln in Germany. Mayor Berling and representatives of the General German Cycling Club (ADFC) were also present, and both parties discussed possible forms of cooperation.
The special program point of the upcoming edition is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Franciscan Sisters of Denekamp. The event will celebrate this milestone with a bike ride from Thuine to Denekamp, with the nuns cycling back to Denekamp along the same route that the founders probably took 150 years ago.
The route of one of the event's routes would fit well into the location of the former customs clearance facility in Nordhorn. Participants can choose from cycling tours of 25, 40, 60, and 100 kilometers, with the 100-kilometer route on Friday including a stop at the monastery in Thuine, where the participants will be received by the sisters. The starting and finishing point for each day is the event center Wubbenhof in Denekamp.
