Antonia Kerle Set to Address at IBC2025 Conference

IBC2025, an important date in the media tech calendar, is set to bring together industry professionals to discuss emerging trends and new developments. One such speaker at the event is Antonia Kerle, who will participate in a panel discussion titled "Fighting disinformation and disengagement: staying relevant in the digital age" on September 13th at 2.15pm.

Kerle, known for her keen eye for trends and emerging technologies in the media and tech industry, will share her insights on the role of publishers in shaping the information ecosystem. She will emphasise that publishers play a critical role in supporting the integrity of the information ecosystem, but cannot do it alone.

The panel discussion is particularly interesting for Kerle due to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU)'s recent announcements on tech sovereignty and public service media (PSM). She will be keen to understand how other attendees at IBC2025 are thinking about these topics and hopes the audience will gain a better understanding that the problem of trust and mis/disinformation cannot be solved solely by third-party platforms.

Kerle will also share recent innovations from BBC R&D that aid journalists and audiences in discerning truth from fiction. She believes a multi-disciplinary systems approach is required to address the issue of trust and mis/disinformation, and she hopes to see investment and engagement from actors across the media and tech industry, civil society, and government.

Evan Shapiro will deliver a keynote speech titled "The New Normal" at IBC2025, discussing shifts impacting global media. The event promises to be a valuable opportunity for those interested in understanding emerging trends and new developments, particularly those with a European focus.
