Fire at Multi-Family Home in Hanau's Lamboy District: Investigation Underway

A fire broke out in a multi-family home in Hanau's Lamboy district on Friday afternoon at approximately 13:00. Firefighters and police were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they managed to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was located in the basement of the building, and thankfully, all residents were able to evacuate the building in time. Two dogs and three cats were rescued from the building, with one resident being taken to the hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation.

Due to smoke damage, the building is currently uninhabitable, and the residents have been temporarily accommodated elsewhere. The estimated damage from the fire is at least 150,000 euros.

The South-Eastern Hesse Police Headquarters have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire, with the Police Inspection Südosthessen leading the investigation. Preliminary investigations suggest that negligence may have played a role in the fire's outbreak.
