Fire in Hanau's Lamboy District: Resident Hospitalised, Investigation Underway
A fire broke out in a multi-family house in Hanau's Lamboy district on Friday afternoon. The fire, reported around 13:00, was quickly extinguished by the firefighters, but not before causing significant damage.
The smoke damage has made the building temporarily uninhabitable, and the rescued resident, a 38-year-old, was taken to the hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. Fortunately, all other residents managed to evacuate the building in time.
The fire was in the basement of the multi-family house. In addition to the resident, two dogs and three cats were rescued from the building. The temporarily displaced residents are being accommodated elsewhere.
The estimated damage from the fire is at least 150,000 euros. The police are investigating the cause of the fire, with a focus on possible negligence.
