Apartment inferno claims one life

In the early hours of this morning, a fire erupted in a multi-family building located on Eichenstraße in Niederschoënhausen. The blaze was reported at around 4:25 AM, prompting firefighters to be dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire originating from an apartment on the 3rd floor. They also discovered a suspicious object within the affected apartment. Specialists from the Kriminaltechnisches Institut of the Landeskriminalamt were called in to examine the object, and they have since determined it to be non-hazardous.

Sadly, a lifeless man was found in the apartment, suspected to be the 47-year-old resident. The search results do not provide his name at this time.

Preliminary investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and no further details about its origin or the investigation's progress have been released. The fire investigation has been taken over by a fire investigation unit of the Landeskriminalamt Berlin.

Firefighters successfully managed to contain the fire and evacuated the building. At present, the residents are being accommodated elsewhere as the investigation continues.
