Armed suspect commits theft at two shops in the district of Cologne-Mülheim
Man Arrested for Failed Business Robberies on Frankfurter Street
A 31-year-old man was sent to jail on Sunday, 3rd August, following two failed attempts at business robberies on Frankfurter Street.
The first incident occurred around 11 am at an electronics store, where the suspect threatened an employee and demanded the day's earnings. However, the employee refused the demand and called the police, causing the suspect to flee empty-handed towards Wiener Platz.
The second attempt was made at a neighboring household goods store. In this instance, the suspect threatened the owner and demanded cash, but was again unsuccessful.
Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect using private camera recordings from both incidents on Frankfurter Street. The suspect was temporarily arrested on Saturday morning, 2nd August, in the district of Mülheim.
Despite extensive searches, the available results do not provide information about the defense attorney representing the 31-year-old arrested in Mülheim on August 2, 2022, related to the failed burglaries and attempted robberies on Frankfurter Straße.
Both incidents were initially reported as business robberies, but the suspect failed to make off with any loot in either case. The exact motive for these attempted crimes remains unclear.
This is a developing story and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
