Arrest Made in Dusseldorf's Old Town for Street Theft
Police Arrest 48-Year-Old Suspect in Altstadt Theft Case
In an effort to bring justice to recent theft victims, the police in the Altstadt made a significant arrest early on Saturday morning, 8th of February. At around 00:55, a 48-year-old individual was caught attempting to pickpocket a mobile phone.
The suspect was spotted by a patrol team at Mother-Ey-Platz, a well-known location in the old town. Upon being noticed, the suspect attempted to dispose of incriminating evidence by throwing several items into a public toilet.
The items retrieved from the toilet included three mobile phones and a high-quality leather case. The recovered phones were later matched to their rightful owners and returned to them.
The suspect was identified by a detailed description provided by the victim, which was broadcast to all on-duty officers. It was discovered that the suspect is known to the police and has a record of offenses. The arrest warrant for the suspect was issued by a judge due to his previous offenses.
Investigations regarding the suspect's activities are ongoing, but it is known that the theft occurred in the old town. While at the station, three more people reported their phones stolen, leading investigators to believe that the suspect may be connected to these incidents as well.
The suspect has no fixed address, but has a history of similar offenses. The arrest is related to previous offenses, and the investigations aim to determine the full extent of the suspect's criminal activities.
