Arrest made on suspect linked to outstanding firearms warrant
A 32-year-old man is in custody following an incident of dangerous bodily harm that took place in Gesundbrunnen on June 27, 2025. The incident occurred in Drontheimer Straße and escalated into a conflict in which a firearm was used.
According to reports, one of the individuals involved in the conflict pulled out a loaded firearm and shot a 28-year-old man in the foot. The injured man was found lying on the ground by a passerby and was immediately transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for his gunshot wound.
The arrest took place around 10:30 PM in Reinickendorfer Straße, in the Wedding district. However, the trio involved in the conflict could not be located at the scene or in the surrounding area.
The Public Prosecutor's Office Berlin issued an arrest warrant and a search warrant on Monday evening, and a specialized unit from Police Directorate 1 (North) took over the further investigation. The search results do not provide the name of the suspect connected to the incident, but it is known that the suspect was presented to an investigating judge today and is now in custody.
Further investigations, including the background of the crime, are ongoing. The investigation also includes the search for the perpetrator, and the search yielded evidence that is now being evaluated.
During the arrest, the suspect sustained injuries that were treated on-site. The suspect is accused of injuring another man with a firearm in June, and the incident is under investigation.
