Arrest Made on Suspects Concerning the Fire in Reutlingen

In a joint press release from the Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen and the Reutlingen Police Headquarters, it has been confirmed that a 36-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a fire that occurred in Hofstattstraße, Reutlingen, on August 26, 2025.

The incident, which started around 1:15 am, began in a garage and quickly spread to an adjacent house. The flames were suspected to have originated from a deliberately set waste container. Pallets stored near the garage also appeared to have been set on fire.

The suspect was identified through video recordings and was presented to the judge at the Tübingen District Court on Friday afternoon. The woman was taken to a detention facility following her arrest.

Investigations are ongoing to determine if the suspect could be responsible for further fires in the Reutlingen area. The Public Prosecutor's Office Tübingen, the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Reutlingen Police Station are working together to gather evidence and uncover the facts of the case.

The incident was initially reported by several residents, and an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation.

The press release is an addendum to the one issued on August 26, 2025, at 12:02 pm, and the source of the information is the Police Headquarters Reutlingen, transmitted via news aktuell.

Inquiries can be directed to Ramona Döttling at the Police Headquarters Reutlingen. For more information about the Police Headquarters Reutlingen, please visit their website at http://www.polizei-bw.de.
