In the quiet towns of Winzingen and Wißgoldingen, a series of mysterious fires have left locals and authorities alike on high alert.

The incidents began in the afternoon on Friday, with the first fire reported near the L1159 road. The blaze destroyed a storage shed containing firewood and hay bales, causing an estimated damage of 5,000 euros. According to the police statement, the fire started from the outside.

A 37-year-old man was swiftly suspected of setting the fire, as well as another fire that was reported just before midnight in Winzingen. The man, who is the owner of a straw stack involved in the previous fires, was arrested. However, after evidence collection, he was released.

The person responsible for these arson incidents has yet to be identified. The Ulm police are now seeking witnesses for these incidents, urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual around 17:40 on Friday to come forward.

The Ulm police also confirmed that the fires did not result in any injuries or casualties, but the potential danger and damage they could have caused are a cause for concern.

As the investigation continues, the communities of Winzingen and Wißgoldingen remain vigilant, hoping for a swift resolution to this troubling series of events. If you have any information that could help the police, please contact your local authorities.
