Aruze Gaming Global Seeks Renewal of Nevada License Amidst Ongoing Legal and Financial Concerns

Aruze Gaming Global, a leading player in the gaming industry, is set to renew its gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Commission on July 24. The company, which currently holds a five-year license, has faced regulatory scrutiny due to ongoing legal and financial issues.

The Nevada Gaming Commission exercised regulatory caution by limiting Aruze's license term to five years, citing unresolved lawsuit and financing concerns. Despite this, Aruze has made significant strides in the gaming industry, particularly in Nevada.

Historically, Aruze has been influential in Nevada gaming through large investments. Around 2014, Aruze was once one of the largest shareholders of Wynn Resorts, owning a stake close to 19.7%.

Empire Technological Group, a subsidiary of Aruze Gaming Global, has been active in Nevada, with more than 500 units installed in over 50 casinos. Globally, Empire Technological Group has more than 4,700 units in about 200 locations and had no regulatory violations.

Empire Technological Group and Linyi Feng, the owner of Aruze Gaming Global, were granted two-year limited licenses in July 2023 and were required to return in 2025. During this period, the company has been working to strengthen its compliance record. Scherer, the president of Aruze Gaming Global, stated that Empire Technological Group has added a strong compliance team and has an impeccable compliance record.

Despite the ongoing legal and financial concerns, Aruze Gaming Global has achieved impressive growth. In the first year of operation in 2024, the company generated $50 million in revenue. This year, the company is expecting a more than 50% increase in revenue.

The Aruze brand is now under Empire Technological Group Limited. The company has 80 to 90 employees and about 350 employees globally. Empire Technological Group is responsible for 2,400 units in Nevada, including those previously placed by Aruze Gaming America.

In a bid to further expand its operations, Aruze Gaming Global is strategizing new game releases and launching a new slot cabinet for beta testing. The company is also seeking stock options for key executives, including Jeffrey Harris, allowing them to purchase an equity interest in Empire Technological Group.

However, Aruze Gaming Global's attorney, Scott Scherer, has asked the Nevada Gaming Control Board to recommend unlimited licenses for the company. This request was disputed by some, with Scherer stating that the money for the company did not come from Jay Chun, who is the brother-in-law of Linyi Feng.

Empire Technological Group and Paradise Entertainment Limited had a dispute over ownership claims, which was taken to court. Empire argued that since Paradise had no ownership claim, it wasn't required to seek approval to purchase assets of the Aruze.

As Aruze Gaming Global prepares for its license renewal, it will be interesting to see how the Nevada Gaming Commission will navigate the ongoing legal and financial concerns.
