In a recent speech, Viktor Berezov, Vice-President of the International "Children of Asia" Committee and General Secretary of the Russian Olympic Committee, highlighted the significant role that international youth games play in the comprehensive development of regions and the global sports landscape.

Berezov cited the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as a prime example, where 19 objects, including sports complexes and urban infrastructure, have been built over the years, opening new jobs and supporting local economies. He emphasized the Games as a platform for human capital development, offering opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses related to large-scale events, and serving as a training ground for professional sports managers and administrators.

The "Children of Asia" Games, which have been held for 29 years, have seen more than 17,000 young athletes from 40 Asian countries participate. These games have a substantial impact on the region's development, contributing to the growth of sectors like tourism, hospitality, and services.

Berezov also discussed how development oriented towards the Games helps the economy grow, stimulating the construction of modern facilities and providing a strong boost for the economy. He believes that the Games demonstrate Russia's readiness for major events, hospitality, and commitment to development.

Russia's Minister of Sport, Oleg Matytsin, also spoke about the Games, emphasizing their importance in the global sports scene. He mentioned the World Championships and the Olympic Games as irreplaceable, but also highlighted the BRICS Games, the SCO Games, and the CIS Games as examples of international tournaments. Matytsin does not oppose these tournaments to the global Olympic movement, but believes they can be held "not instead, but together".

The BRICS Games, SCO Games, and CIS Games are organized respectively by the BRICS association, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). These games are held periodically, but specific recent dates or editions have not been detailed in the available sources. The SCO was established in 2001 and holds summits and cooperative initiatives, including sports events, with its latest summit in Tianjin, China, in August-September 2025. BRICS was formalized in 2009 with South Africa added in 2011 and organizes multilateral events, including civil and sporting forums. The CIS Games are organized under the Commonwealth of Independent States involving former Soviet republics, though specific dates for these games were not found in the search results.

Matytsin concluded by emphasizing the Games' role in stimulating the construction of modern facilities, creating new jobs, and providing a strong boost for the economy. He reiterated his commitment to continuing to work on organizing international tournaments in various formats.
