ASI's Counselor Magazine Recipient of Distinguished National Accolades

Counselor magazine, the most authoritative trade publication in the $24.7 billion promotional products industry, is celebrating a significant milestone this month – its 65th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a special print and online commemorative issue has been published.

The magazine, which is published by the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), has also been recognised for its exceptional work in the journalism industry. At the recent Jesse H. Neal Awards, Counselor won multiple awards, cementing its position as a leader in the field.

The Jesse H. Neal Awards, often referred to as the Pulitzer Prize of business media, honour editorial excellence in business journalism. This year, Counselor was honoured in several categories.

Christopher Ruvo, executive editor of Counselor, was recognised for his work on "Great Trade War" and "Powered by Private Equity." These wins were for a masterful range of work by a single author, a profile of its Person of the Year, and its annual State of the Industry package.

The 2018 State of the Industry (SOI) report by Counselor staff won the Best Editorial Use of Data award. The SOI report is an annual business benchmark for industry members, a barometer of the promo market's health, and an analysis of predictive trends. The 2018 edition included more detailed coverage than ever before, driven by dozens of unique charts and a breakdown of what's behind the numbers.

Another notable win was for Michele Bell's profile on Sharon Eyal, owner/CEO of CA-based ETS Express. The profile covered Eyal's successful legal battle against S'well for patent infringement, as well as his journey from emigrating from Israel as a child and not graduating high school, to leading a $100 million entity. This profile won the Best Profile award.

Dave Vagnoni, editor-in-chief of Counselor, expressed his joy at the recognition. "We are thrilled to receive these awards," he said. "It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we are committed to continuing to deliver high-quality, insightful content to our readers."

In the last 20 years, Counselor has won 68 awards for in-depth reporting, business features, design, and photography, more than any other industry publication. The magazine's work includes generating daily articles, exclusive reports, strategy podcasts, and hosting of Counselor's weekly Facebook video news series, "This Week in Promo."

Counselor magazine reaches a total audience of 30,240 and continues to resonate with marketers due to its proven ability to engage with readers across multiple channels. Other winners and finalists included Ad Age and The American Lawyer magazines.

As Counselor celebrates its 65th anniversary, it continues to set the standard for business journalism in the promotional products industry. With its commitment to quality, insight, and innovation, the magazine is poised to continue its success for many years to come.
