Assailant snatches elderly woman's gold jewelry in broad daylight downtown; perpetrator remains at large

Last Friday, September 6th, an unfortunate incident occurred in the city centre of Solingen at approximately 2:45 PM. An 84-year-old woman was targeted as she entered her residence on Heinestraße. The robbery left her with minor injuries.

According to the Wuppertal Police and Prosecutor's Office, who are currently investigating the case, the unknown suspect asked the woman for a glass of water outside her apartment door. Dressed in dark clothing and wearing a dark cap, he spoke broken German. When the woman asked him to leave, the robber forcefully removed two chains worth several hundred euros from her neck and fled through the staircase in an unknown direction.
