Asus Unveils Three OLED Gaming Monitors at Gamescom 2025

Asus has made a splash at Gamescom 2025 with the unveiling of three new OLED gaming monitors. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG, and the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2 are the latest additions to the gaming monitor market, each boasting unique features and specifications.

The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W and ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG are equipped with Tandem OLED technology, promising increased brightness, color volume, and lifespan. This technology, specifically the "Primary RGB Tandem" 4-stack WOLED panel from LG Display, sets these monitors apart from the competition.

The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W sports a 26.5-inch display, a native refresh rate of 540 Hz at 1440p, and a 0.03 ms GTG response time. On the other hand, the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG comes with a 26.5-inch panel with a 1440p resolution, but its refresh rate is limited to 280 Hz.

Asus has also announced the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2, which does not feature Asus Tandem OLED technology but keeps the TrueBlack Glossy coating. This model has a 26.5-inch WOLED display and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. It also sports a VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black rating and a 1440p (2560 x 1440) resolution.

The XG27AQWMG is equipped with HDMI 2.1 ports, but its DisplayPort 2.1a output has been downgraded to DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC). It also features a USB hub. In contrast, the PG27AQWP-W boasts VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, a 99.5% DCI-P3 gamut, DisplayPort 2.1a outputs with UHBR20 support, HDMI 2.1 ports, and a semi-transparent back panel.

Asus hasn't revealed the pricing or the availability for the XG27AQWMG, XG27AQDMG Gen 2. However, all three monitors share the Neo Proximity Sensor, which switches to a black screen to prevent panel burn-in when the user isn't in front of the monitor.

These new OLED gaming monitors from Asus promise to bring a new level of gaming experience with their high refresh rates, vibrant colours, and advanced technologies. Stay tuned for more updates on their pricing and availability.
