AT&T TV Now combining with AT&T TV-Confused Yet?

In a move aimed at simplifying its product lineup, telecommunications giant AT&T has announced that it will be directing new customers towards its AT&T TV product, marking a shift away from its AT&T TV Now live TV streaming service.

The change is evident on the AT&T TV Now website, which now promotes the AT&T TV product instead of its live TV streaming packages. For those interested in AT&T TV, a list of compatible devices can be found on the company's website.

AT&T TV, which launched last year, offers a range of subscription packages that start from $70 per month and go up to $95 per month or more, depending on add-ons. This is a significant increase from the two primary packages for AT&T TV Now, which were priced at $55 and $80 per month, offering more than 45 channels in the lower tier and more than 60 channels, including HBO Max, in the premium tier.

The consolidation of the two services is reportedly due to testing a no-annual contract plan for AT&T TV. According to an AT&T spokesperson, the companion box for AT&T TV is not necessarily required.

For customers signing a two-year contract with AT&T TV, the cost will be $60 per month for the first year and $93 per month in the second year. The streaming box for AT&T TV can be purchased for either $5 per month for 24 months or $120 upfront.

It is important to note that this change may be a response to the confusion caused by the HBO Go/Now/Max debacle in 2020, where AT&T's handling of its streaming services was met with criticism.

As for existing AT&T TV Now customers, no information has been provided about whether the change will affect them. However, AT&T TV Now plans are no longer an option for new customers, but existing customers will not experience any disruptions.

This streamlining of AT&T's product offerings is a clear indication of the company's commitment to providing a simpler, more straightforward service for its customers. As always, it is recommended to thoroughly research and consider all options before making a decision.
