Audi TT's 2026 model leaked, as new photos circulate before the forthcoming official unveiling.

In an unexpected turn of events, images of Audi's highly-anticipated successor to the beloved Audi TT have been leaked, ahead of its official reveal at the Munich motor show. The leaked images were posted on Audi's Canadian social media feeds before being quickly retracted.

The new TT will be a significant departure from its predecessor, as it is set to migrate to Volkswagen Group's new high-end Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), designed for higher-performance applications. This platform choice follows on from the collaboration between Porsche and Audi on the Taycan/e-tron GT EVs. Interestingly, the Taycan and e-tron GT share a unique J1 architecture with each other.

The new TT's underpinnings tie-up also extends to the next-generation Porsche 718 (Boxster and Cayman). This shared platform promises to deliver impressive performance credentials, with the new SSP platform supporting 800-volt electrics. The new SSP platform will also be used for the new Q5 and Macan, among other vehicles, as part of the recently-launched new platforms for Volkswagen Group.

The new TT's design echoes elements from the R8, specifically in the distance between the rear door and wheel arch. The new TT will be a coupe, not a convertible, and features lines reminiscent of the original-generation TT's simple, curvy design. The new TT's simple strip lights in its face and tail are similar to those found on the recent Jaguar concept vehicle. A teaser video of the new TT has been posted by Audi, hinting at its 1930's color scheme, which may be a deliberate nod to Audi's racing vehicles in the iconic Auto Union marque color scheme of the 1930's.

The chief designer for the new Audi model is Marc Lichte, who has been instrumental in shaping Audi's design language in recent years. The new TT is expected to debut a new design direction for Audi.

Tom White, the deputy news editor, shares his excitement about the new TT, stating, "The leaked images have certainly generated a lot of buzz in the automotive community. We can't wait to see the official reveal of the new TT and witness Audi's design evolution firsthand."

Stay tuned for more updates on the new Audi TT as we approach its official debut at the Munich motor show.
