Audi's Flagship Family Vehicle Potentially Hiding Over 700 Horsepower Worth of Power
Audi Unveils Redesigned RS6 Avant: Plug-In Hybrid Power and a Sporty Appearance
Audi has announced the redesign of its popular RS6 Avant, set to make its debut next year. The latest iteration of the high-performance estate car promises an exciting blend of innovation and style, with a focus on sustainability and power.
The redesigned RS6 Avant will be a plug-in hybrid, marking a significant step forward in Audi's commitment to electrification. The vehicle is being developed as an electric model, called the Audi RS6 Avant E-tron, with electric motors on each axle. While the exact output is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to deliver significantly more power than the current 630 PS combustion version, with a likely output north of 700 hp (522 kW / 710 PS).
The exterior design of the redesigned RS6 Avant is as striking as ever. It features a more aggressive front fascia, with a prominent front lip and larger intakes. The grille sports a diamond pattern, adding a touch of elegance to the car's aggressive stance. The profile appears to largely carry over, but it has sportier side skirts and front fender vents that add to its dynamic look.
The rear of the vehicle boasts a unique bumper and boomerang-shaped taillights, connected by a thin illuminated strip. The RS6 Avant E-tron also features two massive exhaust tips, a nod to its high-performance heritage.
The interior of the redesigned RS6 Avant is equally impressive. It will feature sport seats, carbon fiber trim, and RS badging, creating a racing-inspired ambiance. The infotainment system will be a 14.5-inch display, providing an immersive experience for the driver and passengers. An 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster will also be included, offering crucial driving information at a glance.
The redesigned RS6 Avant will ride on the Premium Platform Combustion and will be 2.4 inches (60 mm) longer than its predecessor, providing more interior space. The boot can hold up to 54.2 cubic feet (1,534 liters) of luggage, making it an ideal choice for long journeys.
The vehicle will also feature a fuel door and charging port on the rear quarter panels, catering to its plug-in hybrid nature. It is currently being tested ahead of its debut next year, and while there have been conflicting reports about whether the 2027 RS6 Avant will adopt a new V6 or use an upgraded twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, one thing is certain: the redesigned Audi RS6 Avant is set to redefine high-performance estates.
