Aue, the partner city of Solingen, seeks monikers for recently-born miniature donkeys of American descent.

A rare American Miniature Donkey was born at the "Zoo der Minis" in Aue-Bad Schlema on August 15th. This is the first time a female foal has been born in Miniature Donkey breeding at the zoo.

The mother of the newborn donkey is named Sophy, and the little filly is full of energy, running around in her enclosure. The birth occurred around 3:45 AM and was unexpected, as Sophy stretched out the gestation period until the very last day.

The zookeepers are having difficulty coming up with a suitable name for the newborn donkey and are now asking for help in the naming process. The deadline for sending name suggestions is September 10th, and the winner will be invited to the foal's christening.

The christening will take place on the zoo's premises on September 22nd, which is the zoo's anniversary. The name of the person who will be the winner has not been disclosed yet.

More information about the "Zoo der Minis" can be found at https://www.zooderminis.de/. Name suggestions can be sent via email to [email protected].

The "Zoo der Minis" is located in the Solingen partner city of Aue-Bad Schlema. The birth of this rare Miniature Donkey is considered significant due to the rarity of American Miniature Donkeys.

The gestation period for donkeys can range from 11 to 13 months, and this little filly is a testament to the zoo's successful breeding programme. The zoo is excited to welcome this new addition to their family and looks forward to finding the perfect name for the little foal.
