The operation, which took place on Thursday morning, saw search warrants executed at three locations in Herford and Bielefeld - Mitte. The seizure includes approximately 900g of heroin and about 700g of cocaine, with an estimated street value in the very high five-digit range.
The investigation began with the arrest of a 42-year-old Iraqi national in Bielefeld in December 2024. Significant amounts of various sedatives were found in his apartment. Two suspects, a 26-year-old from Bielefeld and a 26-year-old from Herford, were provisionally arrested during the searches. Three more individuals, all Iraqi nationals, are suspected of being members of the same gang.
In addition to the illicit substances, a five-digit cash sum was found in the Bielefeld apartment, while a higher five-digit cash sum and an air rifle were discovered in the outdoor area of the Herford apartment.
