Man Arrested for Suspected Drunk Driving in Dassendorf
In the early hours of the morning on September 1st, 2025, a 23-year-old German man was arrested in Dassendorf, District Stormarn, for suspected drunk driving. The incident took place in a shopping center parking lot.
According to reports, the man was driving a VW Tiguan in a risky manner, performing circles at high speed and drifting with the vehicle. This behaviour drew the attention of concerned passersby who alerted the Police Directorate Ratzeburg.
Upon arrival, the officers found the man's actions to be risky and ordered a voluntary breath alcohol test, which resulted in a preliminary reading of 1.54 per mille. The officers then proceeded to order a blood sample, confiscate the driver's license, and secure the car keys.
The man was subsequently stopped and prohibited from continuing to drive. A criminal proceeding is now impending against the VW Tiguan driver, but his identity has not been disclosed in the report.
The police officer who made the arrest has not been publicly identified. The man's suspected intoxication at the time of the incident is under investigation.
This incident serves as a reminder to always drive responsibly and never drink and drive. The authorities take such incidents seriously and will take appropriate action against those who endanger the safety of others on the road.
